Mr Nicolaas Broug (St Aidan's College, Durham, September 2011): We (+70) enjoyed the breakfast conversations with so many visitors from all over the world, young and old, either attending summer classes or having a re-exam. The location is ideal to leave your car behind and visit the city center, the Botanical Garden and the Oriental musuem by foot.
Dr Graham Gould (Collingwood College, Durham, September 2011): I was very impressed by the standard of the accommodation and facilites at Collingwood. I would certainly recommend it as a place to stay.
Mrs Deborah Ross-Willmore (St Aidan's College, Durham, August 2011): Perfect location for Durham experience. All of the staff were very friendly and efficient. The room was very clean with tea and coffee making facilities. Although our room was not en-suite, it had a basin and the showers and toilets were only a few metres away in the corridor and were very clean.
Miss M. Rosemary Darby (Collingwood College, Durham, August 2011): Very friendly & helpful staff from security to dining room.
I did find it quite a trek from entrance to room & was a bit disappointed in the bathroom facilities. However - it is a good thing for the colleges to provide b&b for odd travellers during holidays, using rooms otherwis empty.
Mrs Jane Quinn (St Aidan's College, Durham, August 2011): Our accommodation was excellent for our weekend visit to Durham. The room was clean, very quiet & comfortable. The breakfast was super. The staff were all very friendly & went out of their way to be very helpful - we will definitely stay in university accommodation again & especially St Aidan's College.
Carla Thompson (St Aidan's College, Durham, August 2011): My friends and I had a wonderful time. The staff at the college were so friendly! I needed internet connection and a cable provided soon fixed that. Durham was superb, the cathedral of course, but also the town itself and the people in shops ands restaurants, bus and taxi drivers all made us feel welcome with their kindness and great sense of humour. We visited the Beamish museum, visited the museum at Wallsend, took the Metro to Whitley Bay, had a close up view of the Angel of the North and enjoyed the Botanical Gardens. All that in 4 days!
Mrs Judy Wilkinson (St Aidan's College, Durham, August 2011): Was made very welcome and had a really comfortable stay.

Evelyn Parkhouse (Collingwood College, Durham, September 2010): A totally enjoyable experience, with excellent help and information from reception. The breakfast selection was amazing. One tiny thing...please don't put the mushrooms with the sausages. Vegetarians then have to avoid them.
Stephen Purdy (Hatfield College, Durham, September 2010): very good
Mark Small (Hatfield College, Durham, September 2010): First time I have used University Rooms and will definitely use them again.
Mrs helen hawkins (Hatfield College, Durham, September 2010): Had a fantastic time staying in the old part of Hatfield College. The room was large ,airy and full of character- it gave us a real feel for the place. The bed was huge! ( I had the best nights sleep in years !). All the staff were very pleasant and helpful. It was nice to leave the car in the grounds and not use it again until we left. Would definitely recomend highly and stay in the College again.
Jane Baker (Collingwood College, Durham, August 2010): We really enjoyed the experience of staying at the University.
As we were accompanying our son to a department open session it proved invaluable in giving him a really good feel for the uni.
We thoroughly enjoyed visiting Durham - what a magical place - thanls a lot.

jane de rome (Collingwood College, Durham, August 2010): Excellent value for money and a chance to experience a college at Durham. Very useful for prospective students and an economical way to visit Durham.
R M Edwards (Hatfield College, Durham, August 2010): We would certainly repeat the experience, we enjoyed our stay.
Jennifer Gillies (Collingwood College, Durham, August 2010): Clean room and shower. Lovely setting and walk into town. Refectory offered good range of food. A bit strange not having a television, which has been available at other halls of residence I've stayed in. However, it probably did me good not to have it! A most enjoyable stay.
Mrs T M Walker (Collingwood College, Durham, August 2010): We had a very pleasant stay at Collingwood, never having lodged in university accommodation before we enjoyed the experience. Due to the summer schools, etc. the place was busy in a friendly & relaxed way which made our little holiday more interesting than had we stayed in a private house offering bed & breakfast. We were impressed by the variety of choice for breakfast (though did not think much of the scrambled egg - our only complaint!) the staff in the dining room were particularly helpful & nice.
Mrs Audrey Porter (Collingwood College, Durham, August 2010): Pleasant and helpful staff. Really enjoyed our visit.
Hazel Frei-Selby (Collingwood College, Durham, August 2010): I enjoyed my stay at Collingswood but next time I'd rather take a
more upgraded standard of room - but anyway I found everyone really helpful and pleasant especially the girls who do the breakfast room.
Desmond Platt (Collingwood College, Durham, July 2010): Eco kettle was a nuisance! I am very green but found it impossible to fill flask without water going everwhere.
Anne Cheetham (Hatfield College, Durham, July 2010): Very convenient/
Michael Rose (Collingwood College, Durham, July 2010): We joined up with a small group totalling 5 in number who were using college accomodation for the first time. It was a very enjoyable experience in an amazing location. Very central to all we planned to do during our stay.
Mrs.D.Waters (Hatfield College, Durham, July 2010): The security man/reception/hall porter who met us and took us to our room was a treasure, very pleasant, welcom.ing and well informed .Breakfast was a little disappointing very canteen /institution .Location couldnt have been better.Overall,we were happy with our choice.
Patricia Robson (Hatfield College, Durham, April 2010): Very quiet, close to town centre and cathedral. Some free parking at the college during vacation periods. Very friendy staff.
William James Adams (Durham Business School, March 2010): Very friendly staff, nice relaxed atmosphere, great breakfast !!
David Smith (St Aidan's College, Durham, February 2010): Rather difficult if you are not very mobile ( a long way down & up again to Durham) but otherwise very good indeed position wise. Accommodation welcoming, clean & comfortable at a really good price- excellent value for money.
pippa giles (St Aidan's College, Durham, February 2010): Generally good but a little expensive for the standard of room - being student accom we did not expect luxury but even so it was a bit basic for the price. Really clean - but the welcome and friendliness at breakfast made our stay - it was terrific from the staff there. Thankyou St Aidens
James Ramage (St Aidan's College, Durham, February 2010): Very friendly and helpfull staff at front desk - very welcoming
Mrs Julie Goodall (St Aidan's College, Durham, August 2009): Everyone at the College was so friendly and helpful and the breakfast was really nice. The room was lovely and clean - my only reservation was the height level of the showers near our room - too tall for me!! Otherwise, a really pleasant stay. Many thanks.
Jacqueline Holmes (St Aidan's College, Durham, August 2009): The room service was very good and I liked the choice of tea/coffee etc. provided. The only disappointment was the duvet which was far too warm for the room.
